Formal Letter 2

On a recent holiday you lost a valuable item. Fortunately, you have travel insurance to cover the cost of anything lost.

Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company. In your letter

·        describe the item you lost

·        explain how you lost it

·        tell the insurance company what you would like them to do

Dear sir

I am writing to inform you that I recently lost my smartwatch while on holiday in Jaipur.

The smartwatch is a black Apple series 3 and cost me rupees 25000 when I bought it last month. It is a water-resistant variant of Apple and its black strap has my name on it.

I lost it when I was at the Hawa Mahal with my friends near the cafeteria. The cafe was called Delicious Delights and it was inside the premises of the monument. We had been at the cafe for 30 minutes when I noticed that my watch was missing.

I am entitled to make a claim for the value of the above-mentioned item and request you to send me details of what I need to do in order to proceed.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully

Catherine DaCosta
