is becoming increasingly important as a source of revenue to many countries, but
its disadvantages should not be overlooked. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?
In
the last few years, a number of countries are observed to have tourism as a
significant contributor to their economic growth, but it does come with some negativity which can’t be ignored. I echo this notion completely. This essay
will first look at benefits tourism brings to a country and
then how keeping control on adversities, mitigates impacts.
Not
every country attracts tourists but the ones that do have this opportunity, do
leverage it to boost its wealth. Visitors from other countries bring in the
foreign exchange and increase the cumulative spending power of the region,
resulting in a monetary boost to the country’s wealth. For instance, India is a
country of myriad cultures and scintillatingly beautiful destinations. Such
attractions create innumerable opportunities help locals earn a living, and in
turn aids in elevating economic activities. To name some of such opportunities
are hotels, amusement parks and shopping malls.
At
the same time, enforcing strict rules and regulations on visiting such places
are pivotal for keeping the benefits of these holiday sites balanced and
bustling else it could all go in vain. Authorities should be in complete charge
of the place and take all necessary measures to warrant a safe and secure environment.
Every such place should have stringent dos and don’ts that must be followed,
and severe penal awards should to be meted out to those who damage and vandalize
these exotic tourist premises. Additionally, the government and the local
community must work together and cooperatively to safeguard the interests of
the region and also the site as a whole for tourists in general.
In conclusion,
countries capable of hosting tourists should work on every aspect of their
hospitality, with a focused vision to carve out best practices to earn out of
it, while keeping adversities in mind as well; because, overlooking the
collateral damage of such substantial earnings, will eventually kill the
business itself.
