Technology has gradually become the mainstay in classrooms these days for imparting instruction. Certain sections of society believe that this is an encouraging enterprise whilst the naysayers argue/claim that it is a bane. This essay supports and agrees with the view that the computer is nothing short of a miraculous indulgence in schooling. And, it will further elaborate on both points of view. 

 

It is a proven fact that technology provides an ocean of information in just seconds. The internet alone today is the single most referenced repository of almost all the information that people look for in their daily lives without any due diligence of time, place and culture. Thus, it can be clearly interpreted from the above that computers in education plays an extremely pivotal role in the development of a country’s academic advancement and progress. For example, Zoom, a technology tool enables people across the world to have virtual meetings with individuals all over the globe without latency. This helps in reducing cost and manpower.

 

On the contrary, a lot of researches have been conducted over the past few decades about the deliberate and the inadvertent misuse of technology and the attempts taken to counter this issue. Many technology experts have tried to blaze their own paths but have done so at the cost of ethics and people just to get that extra buck by hacking and breaching in to other peoples lives. It is therefore quite clear then that technology is a double-edged sword and the misuse of it can lead to catastrophic outcomes for individuals regarding sensitive personal data. For example, Zoom, a technology tool, was hacked by crackers in 2020 and a plethora of company secret credentials of individuals and institutions were stolen from the databases.

 

There are lots of benefits from technology for, the computer plays a vital role in this technologically driven world which gives us access to lots of data within seconds. People should be motivated and have self-control over their usage of technology. However, people should demonstrate and exercise acceptable amounts of prudence and integrity while using technology and should use it for ethical ends and means.
